AnimalSwap, LLC — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 26, 2026
Last Updated: October 26, 2026
AnimalSwap, LLC ("AnimalSwap," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") is a Texas limited liability company that operates the AnimalSwap mobile application, associated websites, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
AnimalSwap connects pet owners who wish to arrange reciprocal pet care, pet sitting, or other mutually agreed pet-care arrangements.
We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency regarding how personal information is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected.
This Privacy Policy applies to users located in the United States who access or interact with the Platform.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have been provided this Privacy Policy. Where legally required, we will separately obtain your consent before collecting or processing particular information.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We collect information directly from users, automatically through their use of the Platform, and from third parties that assist with operating the Platform.
1.1 Account and Profile Information
Depending on the features used, this information may include:
- Full name, display name, and username.
- Email address and telephone number.
- Account identifiers and authentication information.
- Profile photographs and user biographies.
- City, state, ZIP code, and residential or service location.
- Pet ownership information and pet-care preferences.
- User settings and communication preferences.
- Account creation dates and account activity.
We use this information to establish accounts, authenticate users, facilitate connections, personalize the Platform, and communicate with members.
1.2 Pet Information
Users may submit information about their pets, including:
- Pet names, photographs, and descriptions.
- Species, breeds, ages, and approximate sizes.
- Temperament, behavior, and compatibility preferences.
- Vaccination information.
- Veterinary contact information.
- Dietary restrictions, medications, allergies, and special care instructions.
- Emergency contacts and other information relevant to animal welfare.
Pet-related records may also contain personal information about owners, veterinarians, and emergency contacts.
Users are responsible for providing accurate information and for having permission to disclose another person's contact information.
1.3 Location Information
AnimalSwap may collect location information to provide map-based discovery, locate nearby members, facilitate pet-care arrangements, and improve location-based features.
Depending on user permissions and Platform configuration, location information may include:
- Approximate location derived from an IP address.
- City, ZIP code, or an address entered by the user.
- Device location obtained with permission.
- Coordinates used to display map listings.
- Locations voluntarily disclosed in messages or exchange details.
Public map privacy: AnimalSwap is designed to support nearby-member discovery without requiring the public disclosure of a user's precise home address. Where implemented, approximate map placement and location obfuscation are used to limit unnecessary exposure.
Precise locations or addresses may be disclosed to another member when necessary for an agreed pet-care arrangement or when the user chooses to share them.
Users can manage device-level location permissions through their operating system settings. Disabling location access may limit map discovery or location-dependent features.
Location practices must be verified against the app's actual configuration before publication. AnimalSwap should not represent that locations are obfuscated unless that protection is implemented and tested.
1.4 Messages and Communications
When members communicate through the Platform, we may process:
- Message content and attachments.
- Message participants and associated account identifiers.
- Message timestamps and delivery information.
- Reports of inappropriate communications.
- Customer support inquiries and related correspondence.
Messages are processed to provide communications, support exchanges, investigate safety concerns, enforce Platform rules, and comply with legal obligations.
Members should avoid sending passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information through messages.
Messages may remain accessible to recipients or be retained where necessary for legitimate business, safety, or legal purposes, even after an account is closed.
1.5 Exchange and Transaction Information
AnimalSwap may process information associated with pet-care arrangements, including:
- Requested and confirmed exchange dates.
- Participating members.
- Pet-care locations.
- Care instructions.
- Exchange history.
- Cancellations and disputes.
- Ratings or reviews, if supported.
- Any payment or credit records associated with optional paid features, if introduced.
If paid services are offered, payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers. AnimalSwap will identify relevant providers and disclose their role before enabling payment functionality.

When users access the Platform, AnimalSwap and its service providers may automatically collect:
- Device type and operating system.
- Application version.

Uploaded photographs may contain identifying details, including people, homes, locations, or other individuals' personal information.
Users should only upload content they are authorized to share.
AnimalSwap may process image metadata where technically available and necessary. Users should avoid submitting images containing information they do not wish to disclose.
1.8 Information From Third Parties
We may receive information from service providers that facilitate authentication, hosting, analytics, support, payments, fraud prevention, or identity verification, but only to the extent those services are actually implemented.
If AnimalSwap introduces identity verification or background screening, additional notices, authorizations, and disclosures may apply.

3. When We Disclose Personal Information

Certain profile information is visible to other members as part of the Platform's intended functionality.
This may include a display name, profile photograph, pet information, approximate location, preferences, and other information that a member chooses to publish.
Users participating in an exchange may receive additional information necessary to coordinate pet care, such as contact details, addresses, schedules, and care instructions.
Users should not redistribute another member's private information without permission.

3.5 Advertising and Data Sales
Proposed launch position: AnimalSwap will not sell members' personal information to data brokers or use precise location data for third-party targeted advertising.
If AnimalSwap later introduces third-party advertising, tracking technologies, or disclosures that qualify as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide legally required choices.
This statement must be verified against every production analytics, attribution, and advertising SDK before publication.
4. Location Privacy and Safety
Because AnimalSwap connects individuals who may meet at private residences, the confidentiality of location information is important.
We recommend that users:
- Avoid publishing complete residential addresses in public profiles.
- Share addresses only with members they trust.
- Limit unnecessary personal information in photographs.
- Review location permissions regularly.
- Avoid disclosing another member's location without permission.
AnimalSwap may restrict access to precise location information where technically feasible and consistent with Platform functionality.
However, once information has been disclosed to another member, AnimalSwap cannot guarantee that the recipient will maintain its confidentiality.
5. Data Storage and Security
AnimalSwap uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Measures may include authentication controls, encrypted communications, access restrictions, security monitoring, and the security services offered by our hosting providers.
No Internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting their authentication credentials and notifying AnimalSwap of suspected unauthorized account activity.
AnimalSwap will investigate security incidents and provide notifications when legally required.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect users.

Information previously shared with other members, including messages already received, may remain in those members' accounts where legally permissible.
Account deletion does not necessarily erase information independently saved or copied by another person.
Users may also request correction of certain information or update their profiles directly through the application.
8. Privacy Rights for U.S. Residents
Depending on the user's state of residence and applicable legal requirements, users may have rights to:

If the CCPA applies to AnimalSwap, additional required disclosures and controls will be provided, including applicable access, correction, deletion, and opt-out mechanisms.
AnimalSwap will not discriminate unlawfully against consumers exercising their privacy rights.
Any disclosure of sensitive information for purposes beyond those permitted by law will be subject to applicable limitations and required choices.

AnimalSwap is based in Texas and intends to serve users throughout the United States.
Where applicable, we will comply with the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and other relevant state privacy laws.
Precise geolocation and other legally defined sensitive information will be handled in accordance with applicable consent and security obligations.
Our privacy program will be adjusted as additional laws become applicable because of business growth, geographic expansion, or changes to the Platform.
11. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 or older.
AnimalSwap does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information directly from children under 18 for the purpose of creating or operating an account.
If we discover that a person under 18 has created an account, we may suspend or delete the account and associated information, subject to legal requirements.

If AnimalSwap uses nonessential advertising or analytics technologies requiring consent or opt-out controls, those controls will be provided where legally required.
Details of specific SDKs, tracking technologies, and their purposes must be confirmed against the production software configuration.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Platform may link to external resources, including map services, veterinary resources, payment providers, or websites operated by others.

This Privacy Policy does not govern independent processing activities conducted by third parties outside AnimalSwap's control.
